Inauguration
The inaugural “Lower Stillwater Perch Assault” in 2006 was a product of several folks desire to establish an ice fishing tournament that would accomplish several things. First, it has to be about perch, a favorite fish of the dreamers. Next, it had to be about cash, serious cash! Knowing that more and more ice anglers are investing serious bait money on electronics, shelters, etc. this would be a way for some folks to recoup some of that investment. Lastly, it had to be FUN!!! The success of the first event proved we had achieved all three objectives! The event went so smoothly, was enjoyed by so many and received so much support, we knew we had a hit on our hands.
In 2007, we TRIPPLED the event, making it a three round series. We gave away over $12500 in CASH and $2500 in prizes! We awarded a Series Champion who earned a $650 Bonus for winning the series! And we had more fun than ever! We learned a little and listened a LOT to the folks that fished it and we are committed to making this the most lucrative and fun ice fishing series in MONTANA!
